Knowing How To – Psychic Powers

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Your mind is like a magnet, which is something you may not have known. Your mind will attract things that it sees and thinks. The law of attraction deals with this mind power. The law of attraction is about believing so strongly that something will happen that it does end up happening. This means that you can have the most amazing life if you just put your mind to it. It may take time, but with practice you can have what you want. Your mind is amazing and powerful.

We all have mind power that we just do not realize. In fact, research has proven that we only use about 10% of our brain power. What a waste! We seem to only stick to the simple things and bypass the rest. That could be why we seem to think life is nothing but trouble. That leads to negative thoughts because we do not think anything can happen. We think negative, so we draw negativity to ourselves. The truth is that by thinking this way we are just manifesting the negativity in our own life.

Your life as it is today is a reflection of your thinking. What happens in your mind appears in your life because it is what you conceive and believe. What some people call psychic power or ESP actually refers to things that can be created using some of the unused brain power lying wasted. Think about something you want to have happen in your life, then put your subconscious mind power into bringing it in to reality. If you believe in negative things, you will bring negative things. If you believe in positive events, then they can occur.

Visualization is the key to tapping your unused mental powers. This powerful technique is simple to describe, but runs counter to most people’s native skepticism: Visualize the success you want to have and work backwards to visualize the steps you need to go to to make that success happen.

Visualization is done by sitting quietly and using your mind to imagine all of the things you would like to have in your world. Let your mind create picture images of those things. Anyone can use the visualization technique to bring these desires into their subconscious mind. The subconscious mind will then bring them into the world. Hold positive images in your mind and you will have positive results; hold negative images and you will have negative results. Plan ahead what you want to do before you begin your visualization practice.

In fact, write down your positive ideas and thoughts of your ideal life in a story like format. Talk about your goals and your dreams and what you would like your life to be like. You want to be able to remember as much as possible when you begin the visualization exercise so write down as many details as you can. Do these several times a day until it begins to feel so real that you begin to believe in your dreams.

Affirmations are another important technique. Anything that helps boost your positive self image is a worthwhile tool for getting the Law of Attraction to work for you. Think of them as giving yourself an encouraging boost. Keep telling yourself that you’ll meet a particular goal, like losing 10 pounds in a month, and you’ll eventually believe it and it’ll become a habit.

Your mind power can also be improved by simple training. This is brainwave synchronization through listening to specific tones through a set of earphones. This can help your brain heal itself, be used to teach you things (like language vocabulary) while you sleep and even to enhance your memory. It all depends on the different frequencies and what inputs you give your subconscious mind.

A frequently used method to expand mind power is hypnosis. Hypnosis is used to relax the body and open up access to the subconscious mind. It has been used as an effective treatment to help people quit smoking. Through repeated sessions, a person sits and relaxes as someone tells them over and over that they are ready to quit smoking, that they no longer have the desire to smoke, and that they can and will quit smoking. They are convinced in their subconscious mind that they can quit and so they do.

Everyone has mind power, and it’s just a matter of harnessing it. The way to take control of your life is to believe in the power of positive thinking and to let the Law of Attraction work for you under your conscious and subconscious direction. It won’t happen overnight, but there are significant benefits to be had. The only thing holding you back is your mind.

Laboratory Furniture: Up Close and Personal!

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Science might seem like something that happens in sterile labs behind closed doors, but that’s not really the truth of it. There’s a wide range of places out there that allow you to visit their facilities to see scientific research and work as it goes on. Check out their laboratory furniture, ask questions about what’s going on, and find out everything you wanted to know about the procedures and work that happens at museums, hospitals and many other locations. Let’s take a look at some of the places you might be able to see scientific equipment and processes, and some of what you’ll find if you visit them.

In the United Kingdom for example, there are now several different institutions which have decided to promote science by means of offering the public open days. These are companies and government organizations that have made the decision to open their doors for ordinary people and in so doing, they hope to improve the relationship which exists between them and the general public. Considering that both children and adults stand a lot to gain, this is without doubt a great opportunity.

One of the great things about these open days is that rather than being bland tours, many institutions are going to great lengths in order to make these events both interesting and appealing to those who choose to visit. For example, at the Institute of Biomedical Science, visiting students have an opportunity to monitor the progress of the dummy patient regarding the different departments within a laboratory. They have an opportunity to get up close and personal with pre-prepared samples and results. Furthermore, they can scrutinize bloodstains, blood films and a wealth of other information, including a comprehensive presentation by histologists.

The truth is, until you actually take part in such a tour, it’s difficult to comprehend just how much work is involved when someone requests blood work to be done. Witnessing this in person, you have the advantage of seeing slides relevant to the work and you get to see the most amazing laboratory furniture such as fume extraction and laboratory fume cupboards and other interesting bits of equipment.

For those who have no interest in medicine, the Natural History Museum allows visitors’ access to their “Earth Lab”. Here you can immerse yourself in a phenomenal collection of rocks, fossils and minerals. Also at your disposal, is a user friendly database together with a microscope for those who really want to get up close. The amount of information available to visitors is simply unbelievable, not to mention the fact that there are always helpful staff members on hand to answer questions and provide further information.

Astronomy is yet another subject which is well represented to the public by various institutions. For example Jodrell Bank not only provides relevant talks relating to astronomy, but visitors also get to see the famous Lovell Radio Telescope as well as the Jodrell Bank Observatory. Interestingly enough, this institution continuously hosts a range of special events for the public so all one needs to do, is to determine when such events are taking place. Astronomy is unique in that it appeals to virtually everyone and as such, more people should take advantage of opportunities such as this.

At the Institute for Animal Health and similar institutions, you can check out visitor centers and learn more about what happens to food before it gets to the store. Livestock and crop growing information are available, but there’s more than just farming. You’ll also see some of the information about bacterial problems that can come up in food production and how they’re dealt with. Just like most of the other laboratories you’ll get a chance to see, animal related ones will have a lot of interesting laboratory furniture and equipment. It can be really exciting for kids and adults alike. We should all know where our food comes from and how it gets on our plate, and you’ll be surprised at how little you really know.

Visiting labs and learning more about science is an important activity, and it’s great that it’s getting more accessible for the majority of people. Whether you check out fume extraction processes, blood tests, telescopes or animal husbandry, there’s so much to learn. More and more institutions are making it easy to find out what goes on behind their doors. If you have the chance to see a lab in person, you should take it. After all, you can’t learn too much about any topic!
